Community: Collaboration over Competition

I'd like to use my first blog entry to showcase Maya Miller. Maya is an exquisitely talented local photographer who highlights community events in baton rouge and new Orleans.

in addition to her talent, maya has shown herself to be a woman of pure collaboration. She is a woman who doesn't mind amplifying another and does it out of love...not personal gain.

I recently had the privilege to collaborate with maya on several projects. She lended her uniquely, artistic eye to a branding collaboration for Sunflower and Stone. We have and plan to continue to create safe spaces for women... particularly Black women.

Maya has recently been selected as one of the featured artists in the upcoming exhibit, Manifest opening December 14 at the Ferrera Showman Gallery in New Orleans, LA.
